Conventional MethodStart: 1:00 p.m.
1. Put vehicle on hoist. (5 minutes)
2. Remove center link assembly from Pitman arm. (5 minutes)
3. Remove steering shaft, power steering lines and frame mounting bolts from steering gear. (40 minutes)
4. Remove steering gear assembly from vehicle and take to workbench. (40 minutes)
5. Attach puller and remove Pitman arm.(10 minutes)
6. Install new Pitman arm and torque to specs. (10 minutes)
7. Reinstall steering gear in vehicle. (40 minutes)
8. Install steering shaft, power steering lines and bolts in steering gear.(40 minutes)
9. Install center link assembly to Pitman arm. (5 minutes)
10. Refill and bleed air from power steering system. (15 minutes)
nish: 4:30 p.m.

Using OTC-6496 PullerStart: 1:00 p.m.
1. Put vehicle on hoist. (5 minutes)
2. Remove center linkassembly from Pitman arm. (5 minutes)
3. Loosen or remove steering gear bolt on steering gear. (5 minutes)
4. Attach puller and remove Pitman arm. (10 minutes)
5. Install new Pitman arm and torque to specs. (5 minutes)
6. Install or tighten steering gear bolts to frame. (5 minutes)
7. Install center link assembly to Pitman arm. (5 minutes)
nish: 1:40 p.m.
